Marianne Gardner

Marianne has spent the past thirty years as a paralegal and legal assistant working for some of the most successful and highly respected trial attorneys in Los Angeles. Additionally, she has spent the past several decades involved in community volunteer organizations including fundraising for underprivileged children that live in the inner city; tutoring children that live in shelters; acting as an Ombudsman advocating for residents in long term care facilities; volunteer for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) at LA County USC Medical Center; visitor to patients at UCLA Medical Center; and she is presently a volunteer for the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition.

Moreover, she has personally provided exclusive long term care to, and advocated for, two terminally ill individuals in the community. This involvement provided direct interaction with both the ICU as well as hospice and end of life care health practices and practitioners, and the sadly lacking choices available to individuals who are in such fragile and often painful condition. The lack of information to the patient and the caregiver, and lack of individualized attention to each unique situation was sadly apparent to Marianne, and she would like to participate in a movement to offer compassionate options to persons who are facing such end of life issues.
